Don't Miss These Updates: God is at Work!

God is faithfully at work in the lives of men all around Kansas City and is using Fatherhood Foundations to rebuild lives and reconnect families. This newsletter brings you some exciting new updates and things to pray about with us as we see God expanding the reach of our ministry and impact.

Advancements:

In the last few months, God has grown Fatherhood Foundations, and we have expanded to two new locations in the community, Ozark Recovery Housing and Shelter KC. He has been so faithful to provide for us in many ways, and we appreciate your continued prayers for our financial needs. One way God has provided for us is through a new database that will help us streamline and simplify our donations and communication systems. While this is a rather exciting improvement for us, and it may not mean much to you, we want to inform you that our monthly newsletters will be sent from a different system, beginning in the next few months.

If you missed one of our previous newsletters, you might be wondering why we are now called Fatherhood Foundations. A few months ago, we officially changed our name from Good Dads Kansas City to Fatherhood Foundations.  Please refer to this previous Newsletter for more details and the “why” behind this transition.

Points of Prayer for the Ministry:

  • Miracle Moments:
    • At Ozark Recovery, two men shared amazing stories about reconnecting with their children. First, Ron, who hadn't seen his kids in over a year and a half, said that the children's grandma agreed to let them see their daddy. They spent about three hours together in a park. They all had a great time and are planning to start doing that regularly. Praise the Almighty Miracle Worker!!
    • Next, Monty just saw his kids for the first time in 12 years. He posted on Facebook that he was in recovery, specifically about the Good Dads program. The grandma of the children saw the posts and set up a visit. This was two days after Derek, one of our facilitators, said “We are going to need a miracle for this one.” Derek has made it a practice to mark down and pray specifically for the men estranged from their children.
  • Please pray for wisdom and guidance for our leadership team (click here for information about our leadership) as we continue to seek the Lord’s direction.  We are planning to start Trauma Healing classes in the near future.
  • Please also pray for our recent graduates and the men currently attending training.  We have 7 trainings running simultaneously at these locations: Healing House, Lansing Correctional Facility (2), City Union Mission, Ozark Recovery Housing, Shelter KC, and New Life CityChurch.

Prayer Chain Rollout:

Do you want to be more involved in praying for the men attending the Good Dads trainings?

Amber, Pastor Don Lewis’ daughter, has been a prayer warrior with our ministry for years, intentionally asking for and following up on specific prayer needs.  She has a heart to see more people included in this ministry and believes in the power of prayer to transform lives.  Amber has volunteered to start an email chain sending out specific prayer requests weekly.  If you want to join this prayer team, please fill out this form and we will add you to the list!  (Please note that your email address will not be shared with others on the list and your responses will go directly to Amber.  The emails will come from this address: pray@fatherhoodfoundations.com)

“And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.  And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”  1 John 5:14-15

Thank you for all your prayers and support; we could not do this work without you!
