An Unforgettable Journey

Our annual float trip at Big Elk in Noel, MO, over Memorial Day weekend was a memorable adventure. Around 20 of us, including a few families with kids, arrived early Thursday and set up our tents, ready for three nights of camping fun.

The evenings were filled with great conversations around the campfire, where we enjoyed s'mores and bonded over shared stories. The kids were particularly thrilled to catch a couple of fish, adding to the joy and excitement.

Saturday's float trip down the river was the highlight, with the water higher and faster than in previous years, allowing us to float eight miles instead of the usual four. We took a 1.5-hour lunch break, during which the kids jumped into the cold, deep river, adding a refreshing twist to our adventure. The camaraderie and teamwork made navigating the rapids a thrilling experience for everyone involved.

Pastor Don delivered an inspiring sermon on Friday night, emphasizing the importance of extending our faith to marginalized people. On Saturday morning, Lee shared thoughts on deepening our relationship with Jesus and growing as disciples through spending time with Him, sparking meaningful discussions around the campfire. As we packed up and said our goodbyes on the final day, we left with hearts full of gratitude and memories to cherish until next year

We are very thankful for our participants, volunteers, staff and donors who make unforgettable experiences like this possible.  We could not do this without you all!
